1 lb. asparagus
2 tbsp. Asian sesame oil
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
Course salt and freshly ground pepper
2 tbsp. sesame seeds (optional)
Set the grill up for direct grilling. Snap off the woody bases of the asparagus. You can skewer the asparagus into little rafts, but I just tossed them loosely on the grill. In a small bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce and garlic, and stir with a fork to mix. Brush this mixture on the asparagus, then season with salt and lots of pepper.
Grill until nicely browned on both sides, about 4 minutes per side. If you want to use sesame seeds, sprinkle them on the asparagus as they grill.
